TAS in Session: The Postelles
A few years ago at the Sidewalk Cafe in the East Village, Albert Hammond Jr., guitarist for The Strokes, happened to pop in when The Postelles were on stage. At the time, the Upper West Siders were indie rockers playing gigs on the weekends for friends. After the encounter with Hammond, the guys sent him their demo, and he liked what he heard. Fast forward to 2009: The band has been rehearsing, and just started recording their debut album with their now-good-friend Albert. The band has a collection of catchy pop tunes (they're big Beatles fans) and an established local following.
