A new report from the Department of Transportation says just 7 streets throughout the five boroughs are responsible for nearly half of New York's pedestrian fatalities. These target roads will become the target of de Blasio's Vision Zero program, which aims to make streets safer for pedestrians by adding things like crosswalks and speed cameras and increasing police enforcement. You can expect extra safety measures coming to stretches of Westchester Avenue in the Bronx, Linden Blvd in Brooklyn, Columbus Avenue in Manhattan, Rockaway Blvd in Queens, and Lincoln Avenue on Staten Island.
