"Cavalcade" recently welcomed David Sheff, who has written a new biography Yoko. David offers a glimpse into the Yoko Ono we don't know, and to tell tales anew.

Yoko has an incredible backstory as a woman who was born into privilege in Japan before her family descended into ruin. She rose from the ashes of post-World War II and made a name for herself in New York's downtown avant-garde art world of the early 1960s and subsequently in London – right up until John Lennon walked into her art exhibition and her life. Although she would forever be shaped and changed by him, her story shifted with his sudden loss. Sheff helps explore her later years, reconnecting with the art world of the '80s,  populated by Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat. She also worked to keep the Lennon flame burning brightly, up to her late-life retirement with son Sean now taking the reins.
