Big Thief: 2016

It takes a certain kind of confidence to title a debut Masterpiece. For the Brooklyn-based Big Thief, that confidence is tempered with honesty and vulnerability, and the band has garnered well-earned and widespread critical praise this year.

For songwriter Adrianne Lenker, the journey from solo artist to duo to full rock band has clearly served her well. On Big Thief's first visit to Studio A, we get a chance to hear a couple of the songs from Masterpiece performed live, and we meet the band whose name is on so many lips these days.
