Brian Fallon
Quarantined Artists is a new FUV feature that includes online Q&As and on-air conversations with musicians dealing with life in Covid-19 lockdown.
This conversation is a must for Brian Fallon fans. I had a freewheeling chat with Fallon (in the archive above) that includes references to Jesse Malin, Craig Finn, Wilco, Julian Lage, Derek Trucks, Elvis Costello, Burt Bacharach, Cat Stevens, and even "Austin Powers."
Holed up at his home in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, Fallon spoke about how his perspective seems changed after his recent 40th birthday. He also told me more about his new Instagram program, "Sitting Around At Home," a series of songwriting chats with other artists.
He also served up fascinating details about a couple of songs from his new album, Local Honey, released in late March. The track "21 Days" was born of therapy while "When You're Ready" was inspired by Fallon's daughter who just turned four.
