Broadway Groupies: Newsies

One woman racks up her frequent flyer miles to see her favorite show again and again.

Tourists in New York City often take in a Broadway show or two during their time here.  But, all this week, we're introducing you to people who are much more hard core than that. Tami Salame's racked up a lot of frequent flier miles to see her favorite show again and again.

Tami's love for the Broadway show, Newsies, began when she was ten years old. She grew up watching the original 1992 Disney movie with her family.  She said she was thrilled when it came to the stage.

"When I found out that it was going to become a stage production, I was pretty excited, probably more than I realized I would be." said Tami. "I knew that as a fan of the movie there was no way I could miss it on stage."

Tami lives in Florida, and flies to New York to see the show.  She constantly saves up just for these trips.  She's seen Newsies nearly 40 times, but said each show is like watching it for the first time.

"Seeing a Broadway show, or seeing any theatrical production, is different every time you see it, and that's what make it such an exciting experience."

Tami realizes her dedication might seem crazy to some.  In fact, she would not even admit how much she has spent on tickets over the years.  But for her, it's worth the huge chunk of change.

"It doesn't bother me that I've spent my money on this, it doesn't bother me that other people look at me like I've made some bad decisions," Teri confessed. "It's definitely something that I feel is worthwhile."

Tami said she plan on seeing Newsies yet again, once she saves up.
