Come Together: Queer Songwriters on Identity
In honor of NYC Pride — and global Pride — this month, FUV gathered some of the interviews we've done over the last couple of years with artists identifying as LGBTQ+, asking them what it has meant to be out, proud, and inspired as a songwriter. Those journeys readily define love as part of that ultimate destination, with artistic acceptance, fulfillment and freedom.
That special, "Come Together: Queer Songwriters on Identity" hosted by Benham Jones, premiered Wednesday, June 12, with a rebroadcast on Friday, June 28, at 5 p.m. EDT, and you can listen with the link above.
You can also listen/watch the original interviews with the artists interviewed here:
Aaron Lee Tasjan
Brittany Howard
The Japanese House
Olivia Barton
Palehound
Porij
Rett Madison
Reyna Tropical
Romy
We're grateful to these musicians who spoke eloquently about their experiences, from the heart. And don't forget — the NYC Pride Parade takes place on June 30!
