Harrison Cohen is the mastermind behind DUUNES. The singer, songwriter and guitarist writes incredibly catchy indie rock jams that fit nicely on a playlist with bands like The Killers, Kings of Leon, Cold War Kids and Cage the Elephant (Cohen actually does a great cover of the latter's "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked" which went viral on TikTok).

Great covers aside, I was first drawn to Cohen's raucous banger "Fever Dream," his very first single, released in 2023. DUUNES' debut EP, Vacation from Myself, followed in 2024 and he dropped two more blistering singles this year. He's planning on rolling out new singles every couple of months in 2025.

I am such a fan of the band that I asked DUUNES if they could open for our Marquee Member concert with Joe P at Racket earlier this year ("a pretty incredible night," says Cohen), and they tore the roof off the joint with their electrifying performance.

We got so many rave reviews from our audience that we decided to bring DUUNES — Cohen, guitarist Mike Squillante, bassist Max Barrett, guitarist Ryder Stuart, and drummer Jimmy Caltrider  — into the studio for their own "NY Slice Session" for a two-song set of "Ballerina Figures" and "Afterlife." Cohen took on the "NY Slice" pop quiz too — and told us that he heads to Grand Central for his fave super-cheap slice.
