Infinity Song: NY Slice Session 2024

It was such a pleasure to host rising stars Infinity Song for  FUV's first "NY Slice Sessions." The quartet of siblings — Abraham, Angel, Israel and Momo Boyd — are the perfect band to kick off this series because they are quintessential New York transplants, moving to the city in 2006 from Detroit.

The children of parents who founded the Boys & Girls Choirs of Detroit, Infinity Song has tirelessly performed all over the city, from outside of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and in the midst of Times Square,  to a residency at the Blue Note. That hard work paid off; in 2016, they were signed by Jay-Z to Roc Nation.

Infinity Song's debut album, Mad Love, was released in 2020 (a tough time for any young band to launch, during the pandemic). In the summer of 2023 they went viral with their single "Hater's Anthem," following that with 2024's tender "Slow Burn," both of which they performed in Studio A, showing off their gorgeous vocal harmonies.

After performing in Studio A and doing a quick "NY Slice" quiz for us, I spoke with the Boyds on the air and discovered their family nicknames for each another: Momo goes by "The It Girl," Abraham is "The Drill Sergeant," Israel counters that as "The Rock Star," and Angel floats above it all as "The Free Spirit."
