Jets Fever Is Taking Over New York City
Gang Green's Last Shot at the Super Bowl.
Sporting goods stores in New York City are seeing a high demand for Jets merchandise as the Gang Green prepares to face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend in the AFC Championship Game.
Robert Griffin works at a Modell's near Grand Central and says they're already selling out of some items. Griffin said, "we're diehard fans here in New York and we're going to stick together to support them...even people that aren't into sports want to be a part of the action."
Thais Vandyke, another Modell's employee, says they're holding back some merchandise until Sunday and Monday to prevent running out. Vandyke says if the Jets beat the Steelers Sunday night, Modell's will be opening early Monday morning.
Meanwhile. the Empire State Building is being lit up green and white ahead of the big game. The game kicks off Sunday at 6:30pm and is the Gang Green's last chance at the Super Bowl.
