The retired Coast Guard steamship LILAC has been around for nearly eight decades and is now at Pier 40 in New York. It is a featured site during Open House New York Weekend Saturday, October 9 and Sunday, October 10. New Yorkers and tourists alike can arrange for tours of the ship.
