Morning Brief: August 28

The President gets Sartorial

President Obama wore a tan suit at yesterday’s White House press conference. Seeing Obama in anything other than a dark suit really threw off a lot of political wonks. Luckily, website Fusion posted a history of presidential tan suits. Maybe Obama was just trying to get in his light colors before Labor Day?

WEATHER

Sunny and clear once again, but a bit cooler than yesterday, high of 79, low of 61 [full forecast].

NEED TO KNOW

President Obama plays down conflicts in Ukraine, Syria [NY Times].

Mayor De Blasio promises New York City will reach its Pre-K goals [WFUV].

New York’s waterfront is still unmapped, years after an EDC plan [Crain’s].

SPORTS

The Yankees lost to Detroit 3-2. They’re in Toronto to play the Blue Jays at 7.

Mets fell to Atlanta 6-1.  They start a home series against the Phillies tonight at 7
