It's Our Town, Please Slow Down

New York’s pedestrian safety initiatives are becoming more visible.  Fourteen more major streets’ speed limits are being dropped from 30 to 25 mph over the next few months.  Jerome Ave in the Bronx just dropped down to 25 yesterday, and WFUV was there to cover it.

 

WEATHER

Warming up today, going to top out around 87 degrees, partly cloudy skies.  More clear tonight, low of 69 [full forecast].

Israel and Palestine have agreed to a 72-hour ceasefire [NPR].

A patient in New York is spreading concern that Ebola may have crossed the pond [NY Times].

Environmental advocates call on Connecticut to protect the birds [WFUV].

The Yankees scored early and held on to beat Detroit, 2-1.

The Mets fell to San Fran again, 4-3.
