Is declawing your cat a stress-saver, or animal cruelty? Manhattan Assemblywoman Linda Rosenthal seems to think it’s the latter. She’s introduced a bill that would ban declawing cats, except for serious medical reaons. It would be the nation’s first statewide ban of the common procedure, which takes out pets’ sharp front claws. The bill hasn’t yet been introduced in the state senate, but we’ll be keeping our eyes out and our nail-clippers ready.
