He’s one of the most recognizable people in the whole world, so isn’t about time he got a Twitter account? That seems to be the thought process behind the @POTUS twitter account, billed as Barack Obama’s personal account. The President’s already been tweeting occasionally on the @BarackObama handle, but most of the tweets are policy posts from a campaign unit. People seem to love the Pope on @Pontifex—surely the President and his people are hoping for a similar populist popularity boost.
