Morning Brief: October 24
Just days after Governor Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio held a press conference saying the state would be prepared to handle an Ebola case, it’s happened—a doctor who recently returned from treating patients in West Africa is now being treated at Bellevue Hospital for the disease.
The public is certainly being informed. During last night’s news conference, social media was blowing up with posts, particularly fears after it was noted that Dr. Craig Spencer, the patient, had traveled on the A, 1, and L trains just yesterday. Officials though say the threat somebody else gets it is miniscule.
