Strike A Chord: Furry Friends Can Make All The Difference

Anibal Torres served in the military from 1984-2002. Since returning home to the Bronx, he's struggled with depression and PTSD. He says two years ago, it got especially bad.

"I got to the lowest, anybody can go. I think I went beyond rock bottom."

But thanks to a tiny, long-haired dachshund mix, Torres is now emerging from the depths of despair. He adopted Snowball for free from the organization Pets for Vets this past May.

He says its nice to have someone who always listens and gives unconditional love.

"A dog is a man's best friend. No matter what."
