The jazzy, psychedelic  grooves of Mandrake Handshake's first two EPs, Shake the Hand that Feeds You and Triple Point of Water, introduced the Oxford-bred, London-based collective's acumen when it came to their brand of self-described flowerkraut, space beach jams. (And forever endeared the band to this show.) The band — now ten-strong — released their debut album, Earth-Changing Worlds, late last month and on "UKNY" tonight at 11 p.m., one of Mandrake Handshake's irresistible, genre-splitting, hypersonic tracks from that release.

Obongjayar hasn't announced his new album yet — but he continues to tease that forthcoming news with new singles, the latest of which is one of his most kinetic and potent to date. Manchester's Antony Szmierek released his debut album on Friday, Service Station at the End of the Universe, and I'll have something from that, as well as new Sports Team, Emma-Jean Thackray, and John Glacier.

The New Colossus Festival is underway this coming week, March 4-9, spread across an array of Lower East Side venues. As a small preview, I'll feature a couple of artists on the lineup whom I especially eager to see, both originally from the Netherlands: London-based Dutch Mustard and Amsterdam's Personal Trainer.

That's "UKNY," Sundays 11p.m.-midnight, on 90.7 FM, streaming online, and in the Archives after broadcast.
